MINISTERIAL ORDER NO (4) OF 2014 WITH RESPECT TO DETERMINING THE REQUIRED CONDITIONS AND PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES FOR THE PROTECTION OF WORKERS ENGAGED IN BUILDING WORKS, CONSTRUCTION, AND CIVIL ENGINEERING

Articles 11 states that Scaffold erecting or dismantling shall be made under the supervision of a qualified person while observing the safety of workers erecting such scaffold through training.

Description

Overview

Under the Workplace Safety and Health Regulations, all erectors are required to undergo training courses which are approved by. Ministry of Labour (MOL). Erector who have successfully completed the course are allowed to carry out the erection of the Metal Scaffold. This course discusses the general requirements of scaffold safety as well the components, erection use and dismantling of supported and suspended scaffolds. It details more specific guidelines for safety erecting, using, and dismantling each type of scaffold. It also describes important guidelinesfor conducting safety inspections of supported and suspended scaffolds.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should be able

  • Understand the National and International Legislation in Scaffolding.
  • Describe the Standard Scaffold, the access of the working platforms.
  • Define the standard procedure for the Erection and Dismantle of Scaffolds.
  • Understand the Risk Assessment of Scaffold Erection and Dismantling.
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of different people working with Scaffolds.
  • To be able to erect a sample independent scaffold and to dismantle it.
