Confined spaces can be deadly. In 1997, the regulations were introduced in order to control industry and the self-employed.

It is now the law that if you are involved with entering, controlling or supervising people involved with confined space work you must have received training. Failure to comply with the 1997 Confined Space regulations can result in prosecution. People are killed or seriously injured in confined spaces every year all over the world. This includes a large number of people trying to rescue others without sufficient equipment or training.

Description

Overview

This two days course is designed for company who needsto establish their own rescue emergency team for confined spaces to be competent to take action in early stage.

Program provides the necessary information and rescue technique required for confines spaces through drill that creates opportunities to improve emergency communication skills

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:

  • Preplan a confined space incident
  • Assess the incident
  • Conduct monitoring of the environment
  • Control hazards
  • Prepare for entry into the confined space
  • Enter a confined space
  • Package the victim for removal from a confined space
  • Remove all entrants from a confined space
  • Terminate the confined space incident.

  • Type of equipment require
  • Emergency communication
  • Applications and Introduction; Confined Spaces and Their Hazards; Confined Space Entry Requirements; Air Monitoring; Lockout/Tagout; Inventory/Assemble Equipment; Pipe Crawl

Day 2
Rescue Action:

  • Emergency Response First Aid
  • Using Tripod, Rescue Skedo, hardness for rescue technique
  • Using the Incident Command System; Strategic Rescue Factors; Ventilation and Interring; Raise and Lower Scenario; Vault/Stairwell Scenario; Vertical Tank Scenario
  • Safety; Rescue; Standard Operating Procedures; Rescue Equipment; Team Evaluation; Raise and Lower Pipe Scenario; Maze – Taglines; Scenario; Supplied Air Scenario
  • Raise and Lower Pipe Scenario; Vertical Pipe Crawl Scenario; Horizontal Pipe Scenario; Vault Scenario
  • Scenario Based Skills Testing
