Description
Overview
Whenever a worker leaves the ground, the risk of an accident occurring increases dramatically. With more than 10,000 scaffold related injuries reported each year, STC has mandated that workers be trained on how to safely erect and use these work platforms. This course attempts to provide a general overview of the safety measures that are required when working on a scaffold. The course begins with an introduction into the various types of scaffolds, and goes onto to outline safety requirements and safety measure that can be taken to ensure that employees working on scaffolds are at little risk of injury or death.
Learning Outcomes
This course intent is to provide the trainee with the standard requirements of scaffolding during erection and dismantling, and general maintenance of scaffolding materials.
- Know the different components of scaffolds and their usage.
- Understand the standard scaffolding requirements from top to bottom levels.
- Have a safe and systematic control of activities during erection and dismantling of scaffolds.
- Be competent for inspection of scaffolds in any industry.
- Know how to handle, maintain and use the scaffold components.
