Overview
There are a variety of organic sources where hazardous gases such as flammable, harmful and Oxygen gases can be found. This includes such unlikely spots as ship’s holds, mine shafts, pulp mills, swamps, and sewers. H2S is a natural by-product of organic decay.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
- H2S properties and Seven ‘S’ steps initial response strategy.
- Practical session with portable gas detection devices.
- Practical session with BA, self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Practical session with CPRR and rescue breathing.
- Practical sessions with rescue drug and carriers.
Target Audience
The course is designed for all those who are required to operate gas testing equipment within the workplace.

Day 1

- Rescue Techniques and Rescue Breathing
- Case Studies
- Gas Detection and Respiratory Protective Equipment Overview
Day 2
- Practical sessions with portable gas detection devices
- Practical sessions with BA, selfcontained breathing apparatus
- (SCBA). Practical sessions with supplied air breathing apparatus can be arranged at customer request.
- Practical sessions with CPRR and Rescue Breathing.
- Practical sessions with rescue drugs and carries
- Written examination
